Lane Cove National Park

This small but picturesque city park is a haven of peaceful bushland along the winding Lane Cove River. Home to the Kukundi Wildlife Shelter and 27 km of the Great North Walk, you can also hire a boat, take a stroll or enjoy a picnic by the weir.

Closed areas: Areas closed for walking track upgrades
A number of areas will be closed from Monday 18 October 2021 for walking track upgrades:
Works are estimated to take approximately three months (subject to weather conditions). Please follow all safety signage and directions from staff.

Closed areas: Fire trails closed for maintenance work
Access along sections of the following trails may be restricted or closed from 7.30am to 3.30pm, Friday 15 October to Friday 12 November 2021 (subject to weather conditions):
Maintenance work is being done on them. This includes vegetation clearing and resurfacing and drainage improvements in accordance with the NSW Rural Fire Service Fire Trail Design, Construction and Maintenance Manual 2017.

Closed areas: Moola toilet closure
The toilet block at Moola picnic area is closed until 19 November 2021 for maintenance.

This is a popular location and will close at short notice if needed to ensure visitation levels do not exceed safe capacity required by COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.
We encourage you to:
Group size restrictions for specific national parks apply. Visitors are still expected to maintain social distancing and good hygiene.
The closure of toilets and other facilities will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Necessary site assessments will take place to consider the management of health and safety risk to visitors and staff, and available resourcing to maintain facilities. Access to sanitation products and running water cannot be guaranteed. We recommend bringing hand soap, hand wipes and toilet paper with you to maintain good hygiene as advised by the NSW Government.

Closed areas: Lane Cove Depot Road closed
Lane Cove Depot Road in Lane Cove National Park will be closed from Monday 16 April 2020 until further notice while the road is being upgraded to improve safety for road users. During this time vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians are not permitted to use the road.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 pest management
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a baiting program using manufactured baits, fresh baits and Canid Pest Ejectors (CPEs) containing 1080 poison (sodium fluroacetate) for the control of foxes. The program is continuous and ongoing between Sunday 1 August 2021 and Monday 31 January 2022 in Lane Cove National Park.
Don’t touch baits or ejector devices. All baiting locations are identifiable by signs.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
Fox baiting in these reserves is aimed at reducing their impact on threatened species.

Bradley Reserve

Bradley Reserve is a large natural bushland area owned and managed by Ku-ring-gai council. The reserve extends from Lane Cove River to the end of Kissing Point Road north to George Christie playing fields. The reserve is home to the locally well know STEP track, and is cared for by the STEP inc, the "South Turramurra Environment Protection". The Great north walk also heads through this reserve, and is also home to Browns water hole.
