Adding your photos to the photo album

Top of Page

The club's photo album is hosted using Picasa Web Albums. There are 2 ways to get your photos added to our album so you can share them with family and friends:

1. The old way - If you'd like to have photos from a walk or other club activity published, just pick your best 6 - 8 photos and e-mail them to bankstownbush@yahoo.com. Make sure you mention which trip they are from. If you need to reduce the size of your photos in order to e-mail them  you will find instructions for reducing the size of your photo files here.

2. The new way - Download Picasa, which is free photo album software from Google and use it to organise the photos on your hard drive. Load your photos onto your own Picasa Web Album. You will need to create your album as a public album.  When you have done this simply e-mail the link to your web album to bankstownbush@yahoo.com. There are no restrictions to number of photos or file sizes and the captions etc that you have in your own album will be replicated in the club album. More information can be found at http://picasa.google.com/

3. Even easier, set up your own album, and then e-mail the webmaster at bankstownbush@yahoo.com with the URL and then we'll like your personal album to the club album so that when you publish your photos online you just need to update your own album. If you like you can then e-mail the people who were on the trip or the all club members e-mail address to let them know where to find the photos.

A quick method for reducing the size of your photo files

Before you e-mail photos you might need to reduce the size of your photo files. There is a quick way to reduce the file size. It goes something like this depending on your operating system:

This will make the files smaller, but still a suitable resolution for putting on the web.
