Campsites New England Tablelands

From the campsite, there is access to climb Bald Rock and Little Bald Rock.

A good spot to explore the river and access the waterfall. Wildlife and wildflowers are features in this area.

Bring your own drinking water.

You can walk to Cathedral and Woolpack rocks.

There are some walk tracks in the area. Treat the tap water before drinking.

This campground is on the site of an old sawmill. There are some great waterfalls nearby to explore.

As the creek is home to the rare New England tree frogs, take special care not to pollute the water. There are some lovely walks in the area.

Enjoy the water and the history in the local town and area. Don’t camp too close to the water as it is still in use as a travelling stock reserve.

Basic campground with large trees and bird watching. The campsite is on the edge of the spectacular Mummel Gulf.

The campsite is on the banks of the Nymboida River and is a popular spot for white water activities. Bring your own firewood if planning a campfire.

A popular camping post due to the wildflowers in spring, and the Aboriginal and other historic sites. There is a waterfall that is spectacular after rain.

This campsite is near the Apsley Gorge rim walk and the Oxley walk

Walking tracks from here explore the Wollomombi Gorge and Chandler River, as well as great lookouts and waterfalls (after rain).

You can walk to the Tia Falls (quite spectacular after rain or during flood) and a few other walking tracks.

You can visit Youdales Hut and enjoy the swimming, and walks in the area.

You will need a permit and key from Walcha NPWS. The campsite is within the Macleay Gorge Wilderness Area, and it’s remoteness has helped protect it’s beauty. Plenty of water activities and strolling can be enjoyed in the area.

The campsite is located in a small clearing and gives access to some of the great short and long walks in the area that explore the Ravines.

The campsite is on the edge of the tablelands. The short walk to the lookout gives great views beyond the Apsley River, and there is also a walking track down to the river.

A popular spot for those who enjoy fossicking for Topaz. There are also a number of walks in the area.

Plenty of walking, swimming and fishing in the area.

Enjoy the washpool circuit walk in the rainforest.

There is a shelter shed at this campsite that is set in the gum tree forest. Enjoy the birdlife, and many walks in the area.

Enjoy the Antarctic Beech forest and waterfalls in the area.

There are plenty of platypuses in the Hastings River, and visitors can explore the short walks in the area.
