This is a great walk, lots to see and fairly easy going. If your generally an active person, this is just what your looking for. Possibly a little lacking on some parts of the track in terms of directions.

Hay Ben

Yeah Soon I plan to link walks to the campsites. We have about 8 walks that go through North Era that will describe this in detail.
Here is the shortest route in

Happy camping and walking
Matt :)

With that link you put up, does that mean it takes 2 hours to walk from garie beach to north head? Or 1 hour each way?

Hi James
That is one hour each way :) That is rounded up. It is about 40 mins of walking time (the right hand side of the track notes show approx walking time for each section of track)
Happy camping
Matt :)

Hi Matt, love your site. I cant help but notice the prices vary from the national park list and suggest that the ocean is a reasonable guess for swimming.I know lots of info it must be hard to get across it all and I appreciate your efforts your site is excellent. Stephen

Hi Matt,
We are trying to find a good place to camp with 2 kids (5 and 7). We checked out Bonnie Vale today but not quite what we are after. Would Garie or Nth Era be an option? How long do you estimate the walk from the nearest parking would be? Also love your site. Have used it for walks in Blue Mts and St Albans area. Many thanks.

Hi Alison
Thanks for your kind words, Glad to here you like Wildwalks.
Here is the descrition of the walk in to this campsite - http://www.wildwalks.com/bushwalking-and-hiking-in-nsw/royal-national-park/garie-beach-to-north-era-beach.html It is a two hour rtn walk. Most adults would walk for Garie Beach car park in about 40mins, but best to leave an hour. The walking notes provide driving direction etc. There is no camping at Garie (other than at the YHA, which is about 15min walk from the same car park in the other direction).
It is not as well set up for kids. There is very limited shade, and the toilet is very simple. You need to carry in water etc. If your kids are used to that style, or getting used to that style of camping, then great. But it is not like Bonnie Vale where there are lots of facilities.
Hope that helps
Have a great time. Please let us know what you end up doing. I want to get more here about camping with kids, in time.
Matt :)
