Park information

Dharug National Park Check for park closures and fire bans

Named after the traditional custodians (the Darug People), this park has much history and some great sandstone formations. The wildflowers in spring add a wonderful touch of colour to the bushland. The Old Great North Road including its quarries, bridges and other features improves access and provides a great deal of interest for visitors. Close to Sydney and Gosford, it feels like stepping back in time when visiting this park.

Cost to drive a car into the park (if you do not have a valid pass)

$0

Your site could do with a more detailed map of the campsite and surrounding walking tracks

Thanks Paul for the feedback.
It is a good idea and the directions we are heading. I hope in the next few months to make links between the campsites and walks in the area. We are still working our way through documenting areas so it will take time.
Hope you found some helpful information.
Matt :)

I am coming to stay at Easter for 4 nights with my partner. I was wondering if someone could please post the ultimate Do's & Do not's for the area please?

Many thanks,

This is by no means an ulitmate list, that would be very long indeed, but here are some ideas.
Camping at Easter time is very popular so book-ahead and get the the campsite early. Be prepared for a range of weather it is a variable time of year with hot and cold days as well as a good chance of rain. Practice setting up your gear, and make sure it is all in good order before you leave home. Remember pets are not allowed in National Parks. Bring good food that will last. Plan some things to do, bushwalks and tour the area. Consider other campers and leave noisy things like generators and stereos at home. Make sure everyone in your group is happy with the plans. Relax and enjoy
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any specific questions
Matt :)
