Bouddi National Park is south east of Woy Woy and encompasses the Box Head headland. Bouddi NP has numerous secluded beaches and some great surf beaches too. The park also offers fantastic coastal walking with views out from the tall headlands over Broken Bay, Woy Woy and the South Pacific Ocean. Bouddi NP also boasts one of the first marine extensions in NSW, with a 300ha protection zone out of Maitland Bay for the marine life. The mosquitoes in Bouddi NP can be fierce so it might be an idea to pack insect repellent.
NPWS site says 6 campsites. I drove up from Sydney with the kids and found locals had taken over the place. They had a portable generator and full on stereo blasting. We left hours after getting there and counted 18 tents when we left. The kids were crushed. NPWS couldn't manage a beer in a brewery.
Yes, I've been into this campsite. Part of the problem is that NPWS have built a big sheltered concrete and brick BBQ area. This always helps to attract undesirable people and and other pests. It's a walk in campsite, except you walk in on a road used by NPWS 4WD's. It's a great setting, if only NPWS did know how to keep something nice.
