This track from the Spit Bridge to Fisher Bay is a great little loop which also sees Sandy Bay. The track is well maintained which allows you to enjoy the harbour views more. As a walker you may also encounter some traffic if The Spit Bridge opens wile you're walkng over it.

From the intersection the track heads along the Spit Rd towards the bridge. The track heads along the road to where the road splits, to go over the bridge, outside Sydney Harbour Kayaks.

Sydney Harbour Kayaks, on the South end of the Spit Bridge provide sales and rentals of kayaks. An hour ina single plastic kayak costs $20 and a double $40. Spit Bridge

The Spit Bridge, was originally a punt service which then became a bridge in 1924. The current Spit Bridge was built during the 1950's. The bridge is a bascule bridge, as it's middle section can be raised to allow tall ships through. This ability of the bridge does however, stop traffic which has caused for the bridge to be the centre of some controversy. The Spit Bridge carries the Spit Rd and the Manly Scenic Walkway.

From the intersection the track heads down the road for approximately 30m to the intersection below the bridge, above on the left. From the intersection the track heads down the hill to Ellery's Punt Reserve car park on the right. The track continues past this down the footpath to the sign posted intersection.
Ellery's Punt Reserve

Ellery's Punt Reserve is a very nice grassed area on the north eastern side of the Spit Bridge. The reserve has road access and parking for what seems to be a popular spot for a fish off the reserves bank. There is also seating and shaded areas.

Ellery's Punt Reserve is a very nice grassed area on the north eastern side of the Spit Bridge. The reserve has road access and parking for what seems to be a popular spot for a fish off the reserves bank. There is also seating and shaded areas. From the intersection the track heads along the footpath passing a few interpretation signs. The track quickly becomes gravel as it winds around the cove into Fisher Bay. The track passes over some boardwalk bridges in Fisher Bay to then climb up the hillside. The track winds around the hillside up a fewstairs right out to the point where metal gratings create the track which gives views over Middle Harbour and the Spit Bridge. The track then continues around the cove and into Sandy Bay where the track descends stairs to the road. From the end of Sandy Bay Rd the track heads along the road to the sign posted intersection with Fairbairn Ave. From the intersection the track heads up Fairbairn Ave to pass a garage on the left. The track takes numerous stairs up the hill for approximately 100m to Peronne Ave above.

From the intersection the track heads west up Peronne Ave to come to an intersection with Linkmead Ave on the left. The track continues along Heaton Ave to the intersection with the Spit Rd. The track turns left down the hill of the Spit Rd to the intersection with Avona Cr. The track turns left into Avona Cr continuing down the road to an intersection with stone cut steps on the left. From the intersection the track heads down the sandstone steps to wind left across a bridge. The track quickly comes out onto Ellery's Punt Reserve Rd. From the intersection the track heads up the road to meet the footpath next to the Spit Rd. From the intersection the track heads down the hill and across the bridge to the split in the road opposite Sydney Harbour Kayaks. From the intersection outside Sydney Harbour Kayaks the track heads down along the Spit Rd to turn left before the hill into Middle Harbour Yatcht Club's car park.
