This is a excellent return walk starting from the Katoomba kiosk and winding down to the Furber Steps where it continues along a well signposted side track to the Katoomba Falls lookout. As this walk starts and finishes at the Kiosk it is a great activity for the middle of the day with the Kiosk serving food and the short walk down to the lookout which is a good spot for lunch.
Please note: This is a 'return' style walk and therefore these graphs only show the terrain for the first half of the walk (until the turn around point.)

From Katoomba Falls Kiosk the track heads out the front doors and turns left following the side of the building past the carpark to the small park, which it crosses, passing the water fountain and the large information signs to the signposted intersection of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk and the Scenic World track.

From the intersection the track follows the Katoomba Falls Track sign down the hill, winding down a few sets of wooden steps as it passes a small rest area at a rock overhang and continues down through the gulley to the Witches Leap Lookout.

From the intersection the track follows the bushtrack heading down the hill winding down some wooden steps that zigzag back down towards the creek where it crosses at the footbridge, continuing up a short hill and along through the forest, winding down a few more sets of wooden steps before coming to the signposted intersection of the furber steps track.

From the intersection the track follows the underfalls walk sign down a short set of steps and across a small waterfall using the wooden bridge (This creek flows from Witches Leap all the way down to Veras Grotto). Once past the falls the track continues through the rainforest, winding along the well defined path until arriving at Katoomba Falls Lookout, right at the base of teh falls.

The Katoomba Falls are among the most famous waterfalls in the the Blue Mountains region. The Kedumba River falls about 150 meters in 2 main stages. The Under cliff track from the Furber steps can be used to access the first landing of the waterfall. the Katoomba falls can be view from most lookouts in the the area including from the bottom of the falls at Cooks Landing on Federal Pass, or from the the track running next to the Kedumba River at the top of the falls. These falls are also a highlight for the trip across the Scenic Skyway.
