Really nice walk but definitely for the fitter as the steep climbs are very steep and long. Pretty easy to navigate with the signs and the wild walks instructions. I recommend phoning blackheath information to check the paths are open as we had do quite a detour due to a landslide. We went in April and once you get away from the car parks the route is pretty quiet :D
This walk sounds so great! I'm in year 9, doing a sport assignment on a recreational activity and this particular bush hike caught my eye. Doin my research, I've figured it would be a very worthwhile experience to walk the track. Thanks :D
The Evans Lookout to Beauchamp Falls trail is closed due to a landslide. We bypassed it by taking the hold horse trail that goes to the left a short way below Evans Lookout. This walk needs to be updated to reflect the trail conditions that have been out there for several years. The park service has no plans of reopening the trail with the landslide.
HI , Im hoping to contact Matt. We would like to do this walk in a couple of weeks but we are concerned about the landslide and wether the detour is clearly marked.
The section fom evans lookout to beuchamp falls is closed, and NPW have marked it in red on the map and the path is barricaded. We chose to walk from govetts leap to bluegum forest and back as it was wet and slippery and did not want to go on a closed track. Perhaps this walk should be removed from the site until the path is re-opened.
Did this track over the weekend, still closed @ Evans lookout end and Junction rock end. We did it anyway and took a few detours.. Brilliant track to do if you don't mind navigationg the overgrown tracks. the scenery at the end of day 2 is something else. might write to the Parks to find out if this will ever be re opened..
We did this walk last weekend. It was beatifull but very challenging as the rain has brought the rivers and creeks up. Leeches weren't much of a problem but the mosquitos at Acacia Flat were unbelievable, bring loads in industrial grade repellent.
