This short return walk starts from the Carington park track head through the bush and along Cliff drive to the Fossil Rock track and continues down throught the National Park to the Bridal Veil Lookout, on the western side of the Leura Cascades. This lookout provides you with a spectacular view just a short stroll from Katoomba, this is a great lunch time activity for those keen to start bushwalking. There are a couple of other possible side trips to lookouts along the way.
Please note: This is a 'return' style walk and therefore these graphs only show the terrain for the first half of the walk (until the turn around point.)

From Carrington Park the track crosses Cliff Drive and goes down the stairs and past the sign saying Blue Mountains National Park. The track goes down the stairs until reaching an intersection signposted as the way to the Echo Point or Leura Cascades. From the intersection the track heads north-east following the signs to Leura Cascades. This curves around to the south slightly and continues until coming to an intersection signposted as the way to Leura Forest or to Leura Cascades. From the intersection the track heads south-east along the bushtrack before coming to an intersection with a track going up a set of stairs to the left. This intersection is signposted as part of the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.

From the intersection the track goes down the stairs following the sign to Echo Tree Lookout. The stairs continue downhill until coming to a fenced in lookout.

At the intersection the track heads up the stairs and immediately at the top of the stairs comes to an intersection with Cliff Drive. At this point there are several signposts indicating that this is an entrance to the Federal Pass Track. From the top of the stairs the track heads south-east along Cliff Drive. Just after turning the corner to the east the track comes to an intersection with a bushtrack going off to the right. This is signposted as the way to Fossil Rock Lookout. From the intersection of Cliff Dr and the Fossil Rock Track the trail heads off the road and down the stairs following the sign to Leura Cascades. At the bottom of the stairs the track comes to a lookout signposted as Fossil Rock. From the lookout the track goes downhill along the bushtrack until coming to an intersection with a bushtrack marked by a sign pointing to Copelands Lookout.

From the intersection the track heads south-west following the signs to Copelands Lookout. This goes gradually down along the bushtrack until coming to a rockshelf. At this point the track goes down a steep set of stairs to the bottom. After this point the track flattens out and heads to the south-west along the spur. This continues until coming to a large lookout fenced in with a stone wall. This is signposted as Copelands Lookout.

From the intersection the track heads north-east along the bushtrack for about 25m before coming to an intersection signposted as the way to Bridal Veil Lookout or to Leura Cascades. From the intersection the track heads south-east out to the cliffs following the sign to Bridal Veil Falls. The track continues until reaching the cliff lookout which is fenced in. Off to the east is a great view of part of Leura Cascades.
